Billionaire awarded $12M: Florida billionaire wins millions in wine spat, The rich get richer is the proper phrase needed for the recent news that a billionaire was awarded $12M. The Associated Press reported on Friday, April 12, 2013, that a jury in new York has awarded $12 million in punitive damages to a Florida billionaire in a dispute that he had over some pricey wine.

Friday's decision in a federal court was just one more victory for billionaire William Koch as he was awarded $12 million.

On Thursday, April 11, 2013, the Manhattan jury found that Koch was sold vintage wine by California businessman Eric Greenberg. The expensive wine ended up being fake. With that being said, the court awarded about $380,000 in compensatory damages to Koch.

Greenberg has plans to appeal per his statement.

Once the decision was made and everyone was out of the court, Koch called the award "out of sight, over the moon."

For those that may not be familiar with William Koch, the billionaire awarded $12M; he was the yachtsman who won the America's Cup back in 1992.
