Wife of dead Boston Marathon bomber pregnant; family 'sickened' by tragedy, The wife of the deceased bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, has been identified by the Huffington Post to be Katherine Russell and reported by her family to be pregnant with the man’s baby.
He was the suspect who allgedly placed a bomb at the Boston Marathon on Monday and was then killed Friday morning in a shootout with police.The man also created a YouTube playlist devoted to Islamic Terrorism.
The family released a short statement on Friday night saying how much horror they felt when learning about the tragedy saying they obviously didn't know him very well.
"Our daughter has lost her husband today, the father of her child. We cannot begin to comprehend how this horrible tragedy occurred. In the aftermath of the Patriot's Day horror, we know that we never really knew Tamerlane Tsarnaev."
The Russell family went on in the statement to express the shock they felt learning that the bombs killed three people, maimed 11 that included amputations and injured at least 173 people on Monday at 3 p.m. EST at the Boston Marathon.
The family statement continued: "Our hearts are sickened by the knowledge of the horror he has inflicted." They asked to be left alone "in this difficult time."
Now under pressure by reporters to learn more about the deceased bomber, the family is enduring police cars being seen pulling up in front of their house. A neighbor described the scene in front of the Russell family home on Saturday morning.
"Today there were unmarked cars over by the house and around the neighborhood," Cailyn Mather, 20, told HuffPost. "There was a police presence."
