WestonLawyers.com Golf Classic a stunning success

WestonLawyers.com Golf Classic a stunning success, The WestonLawyers.com Golf Classic, held April 8th at the Weston Hills Country Club in Weston, raised in excess of $80,000 to support The Rotary Club’s Scholarship Fund, according to Todd Templin of Boardroom Communications.

Now in its 26th year, the golf tournament has awarded more than $1,000,000 in scholarships to deserving seniors at Cypress Bay and Western High Schools.

Known as WestonLawyers.com, the law firm of Freedland Harwin, PL, returned for a sixth year as title sponsor. Attorney Michael Freedland, managing partner and a founding partner of the firm, is the former president of the Rotary Club of Weston and remains actively involved in the organization. This year, Freedland also served as one of tournament’s co-chairs.

“We have enjoyed tremendous success here in Weston and are honored to give back to the community,” Freedland told Examiner. “The Rotary Club of Weston Golf Classic does an amazing job of supporting promising students with financial resources that they may not otherwise have in continuing their education.”

The golf tournament drew more than 160 participants and broad support from a cross section of individuals and industry organizations throughout Broward County.

This year’s Golf Classic was presented by Broward Collision, Acuderm, Inc., The Law Offices of Brad E. Coren, P.A., Community Bank of Broward and Sprint/Nextel of Weston.

“We’re proud to support the WestonLawyers.com Golf Classic,” Keith Petron, a presenting sponsor and owner of Broward Collision in Sunrise, told Examiner. “Continuing our commitment to the Rotary Club’s Scholarship Fund is very important to us as members of the community and to the leaders of tomorrow.”
