Suspected bomber is UMass Dartmouth student, The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth campus was closed on Friday after university officials confirmed that the suspect that police are seeking in the Boston Marathon bombings is a student at the Southeastern Massachusetts school.

Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, 19, one of the brothers suspected in the Boston Marathon bombing, who is now the subject of an unprecedented massive manhunt in Watertown, Mass. is a student at the UMass Dartmouth.

A notice on the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's official website states:

"UMass Dartmouth is closed and is in the process of a controlled evacuation of the campus. Students, staff and faculty have been asked to leave campus in a calm and orderly fashion. This action is in response to information that the person being sought in connection with the Boston Marathon bombing is a registered student. State, local, and campus police are on campus to assist with the evacuation and to conduct a full investigation. Go to umassd.edu for updates."

The two brothers moved to the United States with their family in 2002 from Chechnya and became permanent residents of the U.S. in 2007. High School friends of Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, describe the younger brother as normal, and "as American as anyone else."

According to Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's page on a Russian social networking site, Vkontakte, the teen said he attended Cambridge Ridge and Latin School, where he graduated in 2011. His world view is described as "Islam" and he described his personal goal as "career and money."

Tsarnaev's, older brother, Tamerlan 26, was killed after a shootout with police in Cambridge, were the two lived together on Norfolk Street. Tamerlan Tsarnaev was an amateur boxer, listed as a competitor in a National Golden Gloves competition in 2009.

An uncle of the suspected bombers, Ruslan Tsarni of Montgomery Village, Md., told The Associated Press that the men lived together near Boston and have been in the United States for about a decade. They traveled here together from the Russian region near Chechnya.

Tsarni denounced the bombings, and clarified that the actions of his nephews "has nothing to do with Chechnya."
