Second suspect in Boston Marathon bombing is taken into custody

Second suspect in Boston Marathon bombing is taken into custody, At 8:46 p.m. ET Friday night, the Boston Police Department announced via Twitter that the second suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing is in custody. According to CNN, the suspect is alive and will be treated for unspecified injuries.

After being taken into custody by the FBI, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is being taken to an area hospital. He is expected to be handed over to the US Attorney’s office after he receives treatment.. This brings an end to a manhunt that began Thursday night with the robbery of a convenience store in the suburbs of Boston, Mass.

The chase culminated Firday in Watertown, Mass. , when the combined forces of local police departments, the ATF and the FBI converged on a boat behind house located on Franklin Street, following a shootout with police.

According to CNN, at least 15 officers were injured. The police used flash grenades prior to the apprehension in an attempt to disorient the suspect.
