School counselor fired after posting an offensive comment on Facebook, Karon White, a middle school counselor in Grand Prairie was released from her duties on Thursday due to offensive remarks made from her Facebook account on WFAA’s Facebook page in regards to the devastating explosion in West, Texas on Wednesday.

The statement made from White’s account wrote: "It's amazing how the 'whites' get angry when Obama speaks," the comment read. "Oh well....its most of the whites who is getting blown away. So they will soon be wiped from the earth. Lol"

The comment had been deleted by a WFAA viewer sent a copy of the comment to the school district from a cell phone.

The district commented that the remark was highly offensive and insensitive to friends and neighbors in West.

Wright has hired an attorney and denies all allegations. She made the statement that her Facebook account had been hacked and that she was upset that the WFAA staff published the comment without contacting the true source.

Wright stated, “I am truly saddened by the tragedies in Boston and West, Texas. I have prayed for these cities and the families who were impacted by these catastrophes. This is not and will never be a part of my character or what I stand for."

Wright has also filed a complaint with Facebook.
