Robert Plant announces US tour

Robert Plant announces US tour, Robert Plant will spend the Fourth of July in Quincy, Calif. as part of a national tour, the singer announced April 22 on his website.

His performance in Quincy will be at the High Sierra Festival. Other California dates include Los Angeles on June 26, Santa Barbara on June 28 and Berkeley on June 29.

The tour begins June 20 in Dallas. Tentative dates place the tour through July 27, when Plant performs in Brooklyn.

Members of his band, The Sensational Space Shifters, are Justin Adams – guitar, bendir, vocals; John Baggott – keyboards; Juldeh Camara – ritti (one stringed African violin), kologo (African Banjo), talking drum, vocals; Billy Fuller – bass guitar, vocals; Dave Smith – drums and percussion; and Liam “Skin” Tyson – guitar, vocals.

Plant, 64, found fame as lead singer for Led Zeppelin.

Beginning in 1982, Page released a series of successful solo albums.

He also recorded three albums with former band mate Jimmy Page.

In 2009, Plant received several Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, for “Raising Sand,” his collaboration with bluegrass artist Alison Krauss.
