Mystery man on roof, 20-year-old suspect first leads in Boston explosions

Mystery man on roof, 20-year-old suspect first leads in Boston explosions, A mystery man on a roof and a detained suspect, a 20-year-old Saudi Arabian national, are some of the leads that law enforcement officials are investigating in their search for who is responsible for the deadly Boston Marathon explosions that killed 12 people and injured 49 in today’s Boston Marathon. “Law enforcement sources said the 20-year-old suspect was under guard at an undisclosed Boston hospital,” reported the New York Post on April 15, 2013.

The suspect, who suffered severe burns from the Boston Marathon explosions, was apprehended by officials within less than two hours after the 2:50 p.m. bombing near the finish line of the Boston Marathon race. Boston police also have a surveillance video of someone bringing multiple backpacks to the Boston Marathon explosion site.

In addition to the already detained suspect who is being held at a Boston hospital and the surveillance videos, the Boston Police Department has also tweeted that investigators are looking for videos and photos from near the Boston Marathon finish line.

One of the photos that has already been submitted to the Boston Police Department is the photo of the mystery man on the roof. While the photo has sparked rumors and conspiracy theories online, the photo of the mystery man on the roof overlooking the Boston Marathon just moments after the explosion is one of the many captured moments that officials can use in their investigation.

“It’s unclear who the mystery person is or, if the photograph was enhanced in some way. It’s just one of the many images, authorities will be looking at in the coming days.”

The hope is that someone may have captured something that may assist in the investigation.

“A law enforcement source confirmed to The Post that 12 people were killed and nearly 50 were injured in today's blast.”
