Little League shooting: Shots fired outside baseball game

Little League shooting: Shots fired outside baseball game, A Little League shooting happened Wednesday in Vallejo outside a baseball game near the Continentals of Omega Boys and Girls Club, SF Gate reports April 19. The shooting happened at 7:30 p.m. and involved two men who were arguing.

An altercation ensued and one of the men drove off. The other man fired his gun at the driver, hitting the car as it drove away. No arrests have been made, but authorities are looking into the possibility that as least one of the men is a parent.

North Vallejo Little League has suspended all games until further notice while the investigation is underway. As the report said, the suspension of games due to the shooting has affected about 200 children who are part of Little League in the area. It is now in its 49th season.

This gun violence is particularly disturbing since it took place at a children's event. Thankfully no one was hurt in the gunfire and it was outside of the baseball field, but the fact that tempers were frayed to the point of firing a weapon is unsettling. What were the two in a dispute over at a kids' game?

The week has been full of shocking violence in the nation with the Boston Marathon bombing and the MIT shooting in Cambridge.
