Jane Harman calls Boston Marathon bombings an ‘Al-Qaeda-like attack’

Jane Harman calls Boston Marathon bombings an ‘Al-Qaeda-like attack’, The Boston Marathon bombings have not yet been linked to a specific international or home-grown terrorist group, but the well-planned event has been described as an “Al-Qaeda-like attack”

Former congresswoman Jane Harman, currently the President of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars told CNN News on April 15 that there is a very real possibility that the Boston Marathon bombings could be Al-Qaeda related. The bombs used in the attack are very similar to bombs used by Al-Qaeda in terrorist attacks across the world.

The Boston Marathon is the largest marathon in the world, and racers from 50 nations were represented. Harman speculated that due to the international nature of the Boston Marathon, it is entirely possible that Al-Qaeda could be involved in the horrific attack.

CNN News reported at 5:15 p.m. that more than 100 people have been injured, six are critical and two are dead. Victims have been taken to Boston Mass. Hospital, one of the best trauma centers in the country. Other victims have been taken to other area emergency rooms. Reports of injuries and fatalities are slowly coming in from all health care facilities caring for victims.
