Detroit police arrest suspect in fatal shooting of cab driver, The Detroit police arrested a man Saturday evening in connection with the fatal shooting of a cab driver that same morning. Officers from the DPD’s homicide unit and Eastern District’s Special Operations were involved in the arrest.

The cab driver was found shot at about 7:30 a.m. yesterday morning, lying on the ground next to his cab, in the 20500 block of Goulburn, near East 8 Mile and Groesbeck.

The driver had been shot in the torso and died at the scene.

The cab’s doors were open and the engine was running.

The police still have not released the victim’s name, saying only that he was 42 years old.

The DPD arrested the 22-year-old suspect on the east side at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday, without incident. They will not release the suspect’s name either.

The investigation continues.
