Boston weather forecast for Apr. 22, 2013

Boston weather forecast for Apr. 22, 2013, Forecast discussion: The weather was rather nice on Sunday all around eastern Massachusetts. The only fly in the ointment was the cooler temperatures, as we are usually around 61 degrees for a high temperature at this time of the year. However, we only made it to a high of 50 degrees on Sunday. For this evening, we will remain under clear skies, thanks to high pressure settling over Northern New England. In fact, a Frost Advisory is in effect for Barnstable, Dukes, and Nantucket Counties from midnight until 7 a.m. Also, a Freeze Warning is in effect for southern Bristol and Plymouth Counties. So, if you had planted any outdoor plants, you may want to take some precautions for this evening.

The high pressure system will give us another beautiful day of sunshine and a few fair weather clouds on Monday. However, we will see windy conditions once again, and it will remain cool, as the breeze will come off the Atlantic. Winds will diminish by tomorrow night, although we will see some moisture from the south move into the region. The moisture will help form overcast skies by Tuesday morning.

The computer models have been seeing a low pressure system develop off the Florida coastline, and slowly move northward along the coastline. The low will help bring some showers over us by Tuesday morning, and the low may remain stationary into Wednesday. So, we will see isolated to scattered activity right into Wednesday afternoon. By then, a cold front will bring more widespread shower activity into Thursday morning.

A strong high pressure system will help bring sunny skies and drier by Thursday afternoon, and will influence our weather into Saturday. A new cold front will bring another round of showers by next Sunday. Temperatures will be slightly below normal by Friday, as high temperatures range from the upper 50’s to the lower 60’s.
