Bodies of 5 men and 2 women found in Cancun: Victims strangled, 1 decapitated

Bodies of 5 men and 2 women found in Cancun: Victims strangled, 1 decapitated, Seven bodies were found at a home, which was more like a shack, in Cancun Mexico on Sunday. Authorities report that the bodies of five men and two women were found dead in the backyard of a home. Six were strangled and one was decapitated, according to The Blade on April 15, 2013.

The bodies were found on the outskirts of Cancun, which is a popular tourist destination. “It looks like the victims were independent drug dealers without any links to any specific cartel,” said deputy attorney general of Quintana Roo State, Juan Ignacio Hernandez.

The bodies were blindfolded and had their hands and feet bound. Police say it was an anonymous call that lead them to the dead victims. According to UPI News on Sunday, police are interviewing several people, including the owner of the property where the bodies were found.

Cancun is getting a bad rap these days as last month six people died and five were injured after two men entered a bar and opened fire on the outskirts of Cancun. Besides finding the seven bodies, police on Sunday found the body of another man in Cancun who had been gagged, bound and wrapped in sheets, this was a separate incident to the seven found dead.
