Another blast of cold weather, The temperature has dropped over 40 degrees in the past 24 hours! Hopefully you dressed appropriately for the sudden change.
The winter coat may be a necessity tonight and again on Saturday night. Lows will dip into the middle 30s by early tomorrow morning. This means that frost formation will be a possibility. The best chance for frost will actually occur on Saturday night when the temperature may even dip a degree or two below freezing for a couple hours. For this reason, a Freeze Watch has been issued for Columbus. If you have any plants or other vegetation that sensitive to the cold, you will want to take the appropriate precautions to safe guard them against the frost.
Highs will struggle to get past the lower 50s on Saturday. We’ll see mostly clouds skies for the majority of the day but some sun will be possible by late in the afternoon. A stiff breeze out of the northwest around 10-15 mph will make it feel even colder.
Expect more sunshine for your Sunday and slightly warmer weather. Highs will top out in the upper 50s to near 60 degrees. The warming trend will continue for the first couple of days next week. Highs will head for the middle 60s on Monday and even 70 degrees on Tuesday!
A cold front will move through the Ohio Valley on Tuesday evening bringing another chance for rain and thunderstorms. Unfortunately another blast of very cold air looks likely behind this system as well. Bundle up if you are going out tonight!
