10 band members die in crash: Driver fell asleep behind the wheel, Reports indicate that 10 band members died in a crash in northern Mexico. The Associated Press via ABC News shared the details on April 28 of the tragic accident that left the band La Reyna de Monterrey ravaged.

The accident happened Saturday morning when the vehicle driver apparently fell asleep. The vehicle carrying the band hit the side of a truck, then veered into oncoming traffic. It then hit a tractor-trailer head on, leaving five injured and 10 band members dead. The accident happened along a highway that connected Monterrey and Nuevo Laredo.

La Reyna de Monterrey played in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas on Friday night. They are known for playing Banda music, and the band had posted on their Facebook page Friday evening about how well the concert went. Vanguardia notes that all of the band members are between the ages of 20 and 25 years old. The site also reports that the driver of the vehicle was one of the band members.

Fans are mourning the loss of La Reyna de Monterrey, and they are awaiting news on the condition of the five people injured in the accident. So far the identities of the 10 band members who died in the crash have not been released.
