South Daytona woman and two children killed in I-95 crash Friday, A South Daytona woman and two children were killed in an accident on I-95 in Daytona Friday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. FHP spokesperson Sgt. Kim Montes says 38-year old Michelly Zulfiqar, a ten-year old male and a three-year old girl died in the crash. A four-year old boy was transported to Arnold Palmer Hospital in critical condition. The FHP says none of the occupants of the vehicle were wearing seatbelts.

The crash happened Friday afternoon around 3:20 in the southbound lane of I-95 at LPGA Boulevard in Daytona Beach. Troopers say the van Ms. Zulfiqar was driving left the highway for an unknown reason, traveled along the shoulder of southbound I-95, struck the wall of the LPGA Boulevard overpass and overturned. Ms. Zulfiqar and the ten-year old boy were pronounced dead at the scene, and the three-year old girl died at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach.

Fire and Rescue units with the Volusia County Fire Services and the Daytona Beach Fire Department responded to the scene, and the injured were transported by EVAC ambulance. Daytona Beach Police closed the southbound I-95 ramp at LPGA Boulevard while the Florida Highway Patrol conducted the accident investigation.
