Reds ace Johnny Cueto leaves Saturday's game with tricep pain

Reds ace Johnny Cueto leaves Saturday's game with tricep pain, The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Reds last night 3-1. The loss was the fourth straight for the Reds. Also, pitching ace Johnny Cueto left the game in the fifth inning with pain in his right tricep. Reds skipper Dusty Baker said Cueto returned to Cincinnati today so he can be examined by Dr. Timothy Kremcheck.

The loss sent the Reds to a 5-6 record.

Reds reliever Alfredo Simon entered the game after Cueto. The Pirates had no trouble hitting Simon as he gave up back-to-back singles and two runs. Simon took the loss.

Pirate’s lefty Jeff Locke went five innings and earned his first win this season. The Reds only scoring came from Zack Cozart, who homered in the third inning. After dropping two straight to the Pirates, the Reds will send Mat Latos to the mound to stop the losing streak. The Pirates will oppose with pitcher Phil Irwin.
