1941 - Temperatures reach the 80s across Lower Michigan. Record highs set on this date include Detroit with 87°, Lansing 82°, Alpena 81°, Grand Rapids 80°, Houghton Lake 83°, and Flint 85°. Several cities see records for the warm minimum temperatures including Grand Rapids with 62°, Alpena 51°, Flint 58°, and Houghton Lake 59°.

1950 - High temperatures struggle to reach the mid and upper 20s across Lower Michigan after morning lows in the teens. Record lows for the day include Lansing with 17°, Detroit 19°, Flint 15°, and Houghton Lake 7°. Record cool maximum temperatures include Grand Rapids with 28°, Muskegon 27°, Lansing 24°, Alpena 23°, Detroit 24°, Flint 22°, Houghton Lake 23°, Marquette 27°, and Sault Ste. Marie 25°. For Lansing, Detroit, Flint and Houghton Lake, this is the coolest high temperature for the month of April.

1952 - The 0.7 inches of snow that falls in downtown Grand Rapids is the last measurable snow of a record-breaking winter. It brings the seasonal total to 144.1 inches, roughly twice the amount of a normal winter's snowfall.

1977 - The temperature soared to 87° in Detroit tying the record high temperature set in 1941. This marked the fourth day in a row (April 10-13) that record daily highs were set, including the record high of 89° on April 12, 1977, which is the record high for the entire month of April in Detroit.

1980 and again in 1996 - The high temperature reached only 29°F which is the coldest high temperature for this date at Weather Forecast Office in Marquette.

1996 - Heavy wet snow of 8.2 inches fell which was a daily record snowfall at Weather Forecast Office in Marquette with a storm total of 12.4 inches from the 12-13th. The heaviest snow totals were over Marquette and Baraga counties where northeast winds blowing off of Lake Superior boosted snow totals to 12 inches at Marquette and Herman, 10 inches at L'anse and 9 inches at Watton. Other snow totals included 8 inches at Au Train and Newberry, 7 inches at Pelkie, Munising, Channing and Michigamme and 6 inches at Watersmeet, Rockland and Ironwood. Areas south of Iron River and Newberry received mostly sleet and freezing rain.
