George Bush $500 million triumph: Former president raises funds for project, George Bush's $500 million triumph: The former POTUS has raised a whopping half billion dollars for his presidential library.

Believe it or not, that makes him one of the most successful former presidents in terms of post-presidential fundraising, according to an April 10, 2013 report by Time.

The George W. Bush Presidential Center will comprise a library, museum and institute.

George Bush's $500 million fundraising feat was confirmed by Mark Langdale, President of the George W. Bush Center.

"It was our goal to raise $500 million by the time the George W. Bush Presidential Center was dedicated, and we reached that goal," he said.

A planned dedication for the library and museum is scheduled for April 25, 2013 in Dallas, Texas.

George W. Bush, George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter and President Barack Obama will all be in attendance with their respective spouses.

The George W. Bush Presidential Center opens to the public on May 1, 2013. It is located on the campus of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
