Boston Marathon explosions: Two blasts reported at finish line, severe injuries, Shocking news is coming out of Massachusetts as two explosions were reported near the finish line of the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 15, 2013. A report from WCVB.com states that there are reports of some injuries at the finish line on Boylston Street.

A number of those that were injured in the Boston Marathon explosions apparently were spectators. A great amount of people were gathered around the finish line for the 117th running of the annual race.

Emergency personnel was sent to 617 Boylston Street at about 2:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon to tend to the victims and assess the situation.

Witnesses reported that several victims actually lost limbs in the Boston Marathon explosions and there were a great number of seriously injured. The entire area near the finish line and beyond was being evacuated.

Victims were being taken to Massachusetts General Hospital nearby.

Sean Kelly, of NewsCenter 5, said that the blasts actually happened across the street from the Lenox Hotel in Boston. Other reports states that the two explosions came from inside the Fairmount Copley Plaza Hotel.

There is not much more information at this time, but numerous witnesses simply said they heard the sound of two booms, much like thunder.
