Babysitting teen charged with murdering his 2-month-old niece

Babysitting teen charged with murdering his 2-month-old niece, On April 18, deputies from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) arrested 19-year-old Colin Wolf at his home in Forest Hill, Md. Wolf was charged with the death of his 2-month-old niece.

According to WBALTV in Baltimore, paramedics and officials from the sheriff’s office were called to Wolf’s home at approximately 11 p.m. on Apr. 18 for a report of an injured baby.

The baby’s grandmother, Rebecca Wolf, 52, informed officials that while she was out visiting other family members, she had left Colin Wolf at the home to babysit. The grandmother told police that when she left, the baby was asleep.

When the grandmother returned home however, she discovered that the infant was suffering serious injuries. Rebecca Wolf immediately dialed 911.

Rebecca Wolf said that Colin Wolf left the scene as soon as the grandmother returned home. Deputies found him not far from home.

The 2-month-old baby girl died on April 19 at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Colin Wolf was originally charged with attempted first-degree murder, assault, and child abuse. Now that the baby has died, the attempted murder charge against Wolf will be upgraded to murder.

A preliminary investigation showed that Colin Wolf struck the child in the face; however, the reasons as to why are not clear.

Police did not say where the child's mother was at the time.

Colin Wolf is currently incarcerated at the Harford County Detention Center, and is being held without bail.
