ABC sued over soaps: Prospect Park files $25 million lawsuit against ABC

ABC sued over soaps: Prospect Park files $25 million lawsuit against ABC, ABC is being sued over soaps, according to an April 19 New York Post report. Prospect Park Networks, a production company which licensed “One Life to Live” and “All My Children,” and is launching the soaps online, is suing the network for breach of contract.

According to Prospect Park, ABC breached its contract when it wrote off three “One Life to Live” characters while they were on loan to ABC’s “General Hospital.”

“In an ultimate act of bad faith, ABC inexplicably killed off two 'One Life to Live' characters on loan to 'General Hospital' by having their car forced off a cliff,” the suit alleged. The suit alleges further that ABC is trying to destroy the online editions of the daytime hit soaps because it regrets giving up the licensing rights to these shows.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Prospect Park filed the $25 million breach of contract lawsuit on Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court.

“We haven’t seen the complaint or been served so we can’t comment,” a spokesman for ABC said.
