85-foot trapeze fall: Trapeze artist loses grip, survives huge fall

85-foot trapeze fall: Trapeze artist loses grip, survives huge fall, There are safety nets for a reason, but they don't always do their job and such was the case for a trapeze artist recently. Gawker revealed a video on Thursday, April 18, 2013, showing an 85-foot trapeze fall in which the performer did find the safety net on his way down, but it just didn't work out for him as he fell right through it and survived.

The incident happened back in March of 2013, but word is just starting to make the rounds and the video is along for the ride.

VIDEO: Kenyan acrobat survives 85-foot trapeze fall through safety net

A Kenyan trapeze artist was performing at a circus in Moscow in March and going through his routine like normal. At one point, he lost his grip on the trapeze bar and fell 85-feet all while crashing through the safety net and to the ground below him.

Somehow, the performer wasn't able to just survive the 85-foot trapeze fall, but he suffered only a fractured vertebra. He is said to be on the mend and healing as best he can from what can only be seen as a harrowing experience.

Word is that he "will eventually return to work."
