5 snowboarders killed in devastating avalanche in Colorado, another rescued

5 snowboarders killed in devastating avalanche in Colorado, another rescued, The 5 snowboarders killed in a devastating avalanche is making top news headlines this weekend, as Fox News reported this Saturday, April 20, that an avalanche in Loveland Pass, Colorado, has led to five deaths and another snowboarder injured from the snow-slide.

According to local authorities, ABC News added that search and rescue teams found the bodies of the 5 snowboarders killed in the avalanche a few hours following the destructive slide — which was over eight feet deep and nearly 600 yards wide.

A sixth man among the snowboarders was successfully rescued in the aftermath of the avalanche; though injured, the individual’s condition remains unknown at this time.

Loveland Pass is a common pass for skiers who visit the Arapahoe Basin ski resort nearby.

Although the exact cause of the avalanche is also under investigation, one local officer said that authorities were in fact “pretty sure” that the 5 snowboarders killed in the tragic avalanche accident somehow triggered the slide itself.
